IT specialist in artificial intelligence, e-learning and e-assessment solutions. In the Dessev project he made the online infectologist from the server using carefully selected medical knowledge provided by team members from the medical field.

Economist specialized in Shipping and International trade and experienced business consultant. He is quality assurance expert and IRCA certified as ISO 9001 lead auditor. He has experience in building/leading teams and networks and in management of transnational projects, in various types of EU programmes. He has a focus on projects within the maritime sector, addressing diverse topics including cyber security and IoT applications for ships, safety measures at sea, and mental health initiatives for cadets.

Lila Anthopoulou
The Girl with crayons and the world of colors

A graphic designer who works for IDEC as an internet and multimedia developer, and project manager in the framework of European Projects. She is also an expert in organising and managing mobilities for students, teachers and learners through the Erasmus+ project. And she is responsible for the administration of IDEC Training Centre.

In SAMK, Finland, I am a senior lecturer in maritime studies. 

As a PhD student at Aalto University, I am engaged in research on intelligent fairways and remote maritime operations through Aalto university as a PhD student. In DESSEV project I am bringing in the maritime perspective in various scopes through long onboard experience and research engagement.

Together with the C4FF team, Vanessa, who is the project manager for C4FF Sweden, has contributed with research, feedback and focus groups during the course of the project and has been involved in the development of the functionality and design of the DSS system.

Prof. Dr Reza Ziarati
Energy Charger – always with a package of positive vibes

He has over 30 years of experience in consulting policymakers and companies on maritime education, research, and innovation in particular on issues relating to safety and environment. He was a UK Government Teaching Quality Assessor, BTEC/EDEXCEL/PEARSON lead assessor and an accreditor for Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Immediate Past Chair of Institution of Mechanical Engineering (Midland) and currently the Chair of Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (Midland). He has represented the several countries and organization at IMO meetings (including the UK and TR and NGOs such as IMarEST) and has helped to organize the IMO MSC meeting in Istanbul in 2008. He has published many papers including two books on toward zero ship emission and presented his findings regularly at international conferences including at IAMU and IMLA. He has written several papers on ICEs and diesel combustion. His paper on digital twin is of particular relevance here.  In the recent past he submitted his latest report on GreenShip to the EU and assisted in finalizing the PROMETHEAS report at the same time. His latest paper is on clean transport which was presented at the IMechE COP26 events. He chaired the discussion panel at the COP26 event. He has written over 400 papers/reports on maritime issues helping to make the seas and ports safer, and maritime environment better protected.

He has a proven track record of successfully managing, coordinating, and completing research and development projects funded by the UK government and European Commission, ensuring project success by producing end products within deadlines and budget constraints. Lakhvir’s experience leading a diverse team of researchers, and financial officers has honed his leadership, organisational, and coordination skills. With a deep understanding of the latest technologies and trends in the industry, Lakhvir is always seeking ways to stay ahead of the curve. He holds a PhD in Knowledge Management using Graph-based databases and boasts a strong background in Research Methods, Data Collection, Data Analysis, Project Management, Database Management Systems, Expert Systems, Team Leadership, and Financial Management.

A physician specializing in internal medicine. In addition to typical internal medicine topics, he also focuses clinically on travel medicine. Furthermore, scientifically advancing in the field of infectious diseases. In DESSEV, primary responsibility was to ensure the development of a substantive, evidence-based medical foundation for Dessev project.

Translator from IT to human language

An IT specialist in a world of surveyors, mariners, and navigators. Her main scientific interests include spatial data processing, underwater remote sensing, as well as system design for various inland and marine applications. She was a leader or specialist in many projects related to data analysis, AI methods, and GIS systems for a wide range of applicable solutions. In the DESSEV project, she lends a helping hand in the scary digital environment.

The essence of hyperactivity

Surveyor, geoinformatics, creative research and teaching staff. Interests related to modern surveying technologies, geographic information system (GiS) and hydrography. In the DESSEV project mainly responsible for the creation of the repository.

Izabela Bodus-Olkowska
The One who tried to lead

Hydrographer, marine geophysics, GIS specialists, R&D projects participant, academic teacher, head of the Underwater Construction and ROV Positioning laboratory. 

In a project, mainly disposes of the time of others, sets deadlines, organises meetings, consolidates studies, checks progress, praises and urges partners.
