Statek p\u0142ywa\u0142 po odleg\u0142ych rejonach takich jak Ocean Arktyczny i P\u00f3\u0142wysep Antarktyczny, przez 205 dni, z udzia\u0142em 6640 os\u00f3b, w tym 3698 pasa\u017cer\u00f3w i 2942 cz\u0142onk\u00f3w za\u0142ogi. Patologie zaka\u017ane stanowi\u0142y najcz\u0119stsze przypadki schorze\u0144 na pok\u0142adzie, wyst\u0119puj\u0105c z cz\u0119sto\u015bci\u0105 43,7%. Najcz\u0119\u015bciej zdiagnozowan\u0105 grup\u0105 by\u0142y infekcje dr\u00f3g oddechowych, stanowi\u0105ce 63,6% wszystkich zachorowa\u0144. Czynniki zaka\u017ane na statku by\u0142y przenoszone przez zainfekowanych pasa\u017cer\u00f3w przed wej\u015bciem na pok\u0142ad oraz przez zainfekowanych cz\u0142onk\u00f3w za\u0142ogi podczas przerw na l\u0105dzie.
