Yli 1,5 miljoonan henkil\u00f6ty\u00f6p\u00e4iv\u00e4n havainnoinnin aikana 21 % laivan sairaanhoitok\u00e4ynneist\u00e4 koski mahdollisesti tartuntatauteja (45,8 k\u00e4ynti\u00e4 100 henkil\u00f6ty\u00f6vuotta kohden). Akuuttien hengitystieoireiden vuoksi sairaanhoitoon hakeutui per\u00e4ti 33,9 potilasta 100 henkil\u00f6ty\u00f6vuotta kohden. Akuutti hengityselinsairaus aiheutti 66:sta 68:sta vakiintuneiden kriteerien mukaisesta taudinpurkauksesta, ja lis\u00e4ksi 12 epidemiaa aiheutti influenssan kaltainen sairaus. Hy\u00f6kk\u00e4yksiin kohdistui 3\u201310 merenkulkijaa jokaisessa laivassa (12,5\u201341,6 % miehist\u00f6st\u00e4).
